Design
With the motor positioned at the top of the unit and the scroll located in the center, the R1 CompressorTM represents a combination of technologies found in conventional scroll and rotary compressors.

Shaft-through
Structure
With increased stability the R1 CompressorTM features a shaft that runs through the compressor, controlling the orbit with less impact and unleveling. Compared to conventional scroll designs with cantilevered mechanicals, better stability contributes to quieter operation and increased efficiency.

Hybrid Wrap Design
LG's patented scroll wrap design performs with the improved efficiency.
Reduced Oil Loss
The compressor mechanical is located much closer to the oil supply, loss of oil in the bearing surfaces is less likely in the R1 CompressorTM.
Simplified Structure
The R1 CompressorTM boasts a simplified structure, The compression section is located lower in the unit and the bottom frame is removed. These design enhancements lead to a 20% weight reduction compared to our conventional rotary compressors.
